Businesses help CCFR with masks

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Capital City Fire Rescue thanked Valley Paint Center and Capital Canvas for helping them get protective masks.

    CCFR said they appreciate how people are coming together to help Juneau.

    Valley Paint Center provided masks for first responders.

    CCFR predicts the virus will bring people together with a common goal and make Juneau a tighter and stronger community.

    Capital Canvas was thanked for making some prototype masks to help protect responders and the community.  They also made some covers for the shelves inside ambulances to make decontamination much easier.

    CCFR said residents need to take social distance seriously.

    They also urge residents to hunker down and stay home if possible.

    There are currently 21 cases of the virus in Alaska.
