Ben Stevens to work for Governor

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) The former Senate President will serve as a policy advisor in transportation, legislation, and fishing.

    Alaska's Energy Desk said Stevens served five years in the state Senate between 2001 and 2006 after being appointed by Gov. Tony Knowles.  He is the son of the late U.S. Senator Ted Stevens.

    Stevens considered running for the Republican nomination for Governor last year.  He is currently President of the Cook Inlet Tug and Barge.

    Gov. Dunleavy currently has three policy advisors.
