Bear damages expensive convertible

Girdwood, Alaska (KINY) A pack of Fig Newtons were too much for a bear to resist.

KTUU News reported that a North Carolina man traveling with a group driving classic Shelby Cobras, had the vehicle vandalized by the bear.

Tom Cotter stayed at the Alyeska Ski Resort Saturday night when the bear tore a gaping hole in the roof and left claw scratches all over the body of the vehicle.

Cotter said a friend spotted the damage and called him Sunday morning.  The cab was torn open, and muddy paw prints were found on the car.

Cotter said the value of the car is close to $100,000.
