Ballot Drop Boxes open as voting begins for Juneau Municipal Election

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - CBJ ballot drop boxes opened Thursday as the voting period begins for the 2022 City and Borough of Juneau Regular Municipal Election. 

    Ballots were mailed Tuesday to all registered Juneau voters at the address on file with the Alaska State Division of Elections. The city is encouraging voters to check their mailboxes for a mailed ballot, as some could have arrived as early as today.

    As of 3 pm, voters will be able to drop of their voted ballots in secure drop boxes at the Auke Bay-Statter Harbor Boat Launch Parking Lot, and the Douglas Library/Fire Hall Community Building.

    Drop boxes will be open until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2022.

    Voters will also receive a copy of the 2022 voter information guide in a separate mailing. The voter information guide includes information on each of the four ballot propositions as well as a sample ballot.

    Additional paper copies will be available beginning Monday, September 19, at all Juneau Public Library branches at City Hall in the Seward Street entrance foyer.

    Vote Centers, where voters can receive voter assistance, request and vote a replacement ballot, or drop off voted ballots, will be open beginning September 19 at:

    • City Hall Assembly Chambers

    155 S. Seward Street

    September 19 to October 3: Weekdays 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

    Election Day, October 4: 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

    • Mendenhall Valley Public Library

    3025 Dimond Park Loop

    September 19 to October 3: Weekdays 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Saturdays 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

    Election Day, October 4: 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
