Authorities find one dead in Palmer RV fire

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - A body was found in a Palmer RV after a fire broke out at the residence Monday.

On Monday night at 9:15 pm, the Alaska State Troopers were notified of an RV fire at the 27800 block of East Knik River Road.

Troopers, firefighters, and deputy fire marshals from the State Fire Marshal’s Office responded to the scene.

After the fire was extinguished, human remains were located inside the RV.

Troopers said the RV is a total loss.

The origin and cause of the fire is believed to be a propane space heater located inside of the RV.

The State Medical Examiner’s Office will determine positive identification and conduct an autopsy.

Deputy fire marshals do not believe foul play is involved at this time.
