Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - CBJ Manager Rorie Watt will submit his budget during a special meeting of the Assembly Wednesday evening.
Watt said on Action Line that the news is good. Property and sales tax numbers are fine, he said. An up tick in the budget will be proposed, according to Watt.
Watt said the direction he received from the Assembly during a retreat in December was to hold the line on services. The manager said they're always looking for ways to save costs, but added that beating inflation is tough.
In addition, to the introduction of the general operating CBJ budget ordinance, the school district's budget, the mill levy ordinance and the capital improvement plan resolution will be introduced.
The special meeting is scheduled to convene at 5:30 p.m. and will be immediately followed by a meeting of the Assembly Finance Committee.
Both will be held in Assembly Chambers at City Hall.
