Assembly hears latest on COVID-19

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Incident Commander during the pandemic Mila Cosgrove reported the Department of Public Health is following seven people who are considered a person under investigation for having the virus.

    Juneau added two cases on Wednesday at Lemon Creek Correctional.

    We have had 29 cases, with 26 patients recovered during the crisis.

    Cosgrove said they plan to begin testing of the homeless population on May 19.

    She reported the governor relaxed some mandates on child care facilities to allow up to 20 kids in one room.

    238 Juneau volunteers have helped the CBJ during the pandemic screening patients at the airport and doing other duties.

    The drive-thru testing station has now handled 452 test samples.
