Assault and Robbery Ends in Arrest

    Juneau, AK (KINY) - A robbery of a Juneau business led to the arrest of a man over the weekend.

    According to police reports, 50-year-old Ronald Wheat had stolen from a local business and assaulted some of the employees there. He was arrested for Robbery in the Second Degree, Theft in the Third Degree, Assault in the Fourth Degree and Disorderly Conduct.

    Wheat was transported to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center, where he held without bail.

    JPD said they received a report of a shoplifter fighting with employees at Superbear.    The employees reported they spotted the thefts in the store and followed Mr. Wheat outside where he allegedly became combative and injured one of the employees.  The injuries were considered minor.
