Another non-resident tests positive for COVID-19 in Ketchikan

    Ketchikan, Alaska (KINY) - A traveler tested positive for COVID-19 at the Ketchikan Airport and has been directed to isolate by health officials.

    The person is currently being monitored by healthcare providers.

    The person arrived in Ketchikan on July 16 for work and is currently asymptomatic.

    A contact tracing investigation is also underway to determine and reach out to any person who may have come into contact with the person.

    The cumulative COVID-19 case count has reached 37 in Ketchikan.  There have been 33 individuals residing or staying in Ketchikan that have tested positive.

    Public Health officials said 30 people have recovered from the virus.

    The testing clinic will remain open at Berth 3 on Wednesday and Thursday from 11 am to 1 pm.
