Another death due to COVID-19

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The number of COVID-19 cases rose by one, but the state suffered its 10th death due to the illness.

    The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services said 372 people have become ill due to the virus since the pandemic began. 

    They reported 284 people have now recovered.

    While 38 people have been hospitalized due to the pandemic, there are currently eight people hospitalized or a person under investigation for having the disease.

    Anchorage continued to have the most cases with 190.  The Kenai Peninsula Borough has 22 cases, Kodiak one, the Fairbanks North Star Borough 83, the Matanuska Susitna Borough 21, Nome one, Bethel one, Juneau 27, Ketchikan 16, and Petersburg four cases.

    Southeast Alaska continued to have 50 cases.
