Anchorage man arrested after found naked in middle of highway

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - An Anchorage man was arrested Saturday after he was found naked on the Seward highway and being unruly when troopers made contact with him.

On Saturday afternoon at 4:22, state troopers were notified that an adult male was creating a significant traffic hazard by walking in and out of traffic near mile 24 of the Seward Highway.

A Seward-based trooper responded to the area and located a naked 22-year-old Anchorage resident walking down the middle of the Seward Highway.

The man was not identified by troopers.

According to the dispatch report, attempts to communicate with the male and convince him to leave the roadway were unsuccessful.

The male became aggressive and physically assaulted the trooper by fighting and biting him, in addition to violently slamming his own head into the trooper’s marked patrol vehicle.

Taser and OC spray deployments showed no effect on the male, and the trooper ultimately had to physically restrain the male with the use of his baton.

Medical personnel subsequently transported the male to a Seward area hospital for medical treatment and evaluation.

Troopers said that criminal charges of Assault in the 4th degree and Criminal Mischief are forthcoming.
