Hollis, Alaska (KINY) - The Alaska Marine Highway will help the Inter-Island Ferry by sailing the M/V Lituya for two weeks to fill in for the disabled IFA fleet.

The Lituya will sail round trip from Hollis to Ketchikan on Thursday, May 28, and Saturday, May 30.

The Lituya will take the place of the Prince of Wales which suffered a catastrophic mechanical failure last week.

This left Prince of Wales with no ferry service until June 11.

A technician is expected to fix the M/V Stikine beginning on June 6.

Priority will be given to stranded passengers.  There will be no new bookings on the ferry until the backlog is cleared.
