Alaska surpasses 400 cases of COVID-19

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - No additional cases of COVID-19 were confirmed Thursday as the state case total remains at 402.

    The daily report from the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services showed 356 people have recovered, 44 have been in the hospital during the pandemic, and 10 people have died.

    In addition the report said 36 cases remain active, and 19 people are either hospitalized or considered a person under investigation for having the virus.

    The report said 19.9% of those who have tested positive are between the age of 30-39.

    There have been 53 cases in Southeast Alaska since the pandemic began.

    The amount of testing now exceeds 39 thousand.

    Hospitals have tested 15,044, public labs 12,688, and commercial labs 11,813 patients.
