Alaska now has 157 cases of COVID-19 statewide, no new deaths

    Anchorage, Alaska (KINY) - The Department of Health & Social Services reported a total of 157 COVID-19 cases in Alaska as of Friday afternoon.

    That is an increase of 11 cases over Thursday, though according to Alaska Chief Medical Officer Dr. Anne Zink, that number reflects one out-of-state traveler that tested positive.

    According to Gov. Mike Dunleavy, there have been no new deaths, though there have been two new hospitalizations, bring the total cumulative number to 15.

    Dr. Zink says 16 total cases of recovery from the virus have been reported.
