Air rescues continue for the US Coast Guard

    Hoonah, Alaska (KINY) Despite no paychecks the US Coast Guard in southeast Alaska continues its mission.

    In recent days the Coast Guard made three air rescues to help ill southeast residents.

    An Air Station Sitka MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew medevaced a 62-year-old woman from Hoonah who suffered a stroke.  She was taken to the Sitka Airport for a waiting EMS crew.

    A 27-year-old woman from Kake was medevacked this weekend to Sitka due to complications from her pregnancy. 

    An 88-year-old man from Haines was medevacked to an EMS crew in Sitka after he suffered prolonged disorientation.
