Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Spring Semester at the University of Alaska Southeast gets underway Monday, January 10.
UAS Academic Advisor Amanda Triplett encouraged people while a guest on Action Line to get signed up for admission well before that start date. She said the application deadline is December 15.
Triplett emphasized that applying for admission is different than enrolling in a course. "Applying means you're applying for a degree program."
Rural Admissions Counselor Danielle Carlson joined Triplett on the program and explained how to apply for admission. She said the information you need is online at the UAS website. "It's really a simple process. There's no essay portion at all so it should take you 10 to 15 minutes in total and if you ever get stuck anywhere in that process you can reach out to our admissions team for help." The telephone number is 907-796-6100. or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Registration for priority and degree seeking students opened November 8. Registration for all others gets underway Monday, November 22.
Triplett explained how people can find out about class offerings. "On our web site we have a big button that says 'Class Schedule' and they can take a look online at our class schedule or you can call our Student Resource Center and talk to myself, an advisor, or my co-worker Amy and we can answer questions about what the process is like, what the requirements are and help you get started.
