Additional case of COVID-19 in Ketchikan

    Ketchikan, Alaska (KINY) - The Ketchikan Emergency Operations Center reported a new positive test. This brings the total number of positive cases to 16.

    Officials said the new case was of an individual who was a close contact with a person who previously tested positive.

    The individual self-quarantined and sought testing through a local healthcare provider.

    Public Health Officials said they have begun a contact investigation and will reach out to anyone who may have come into contact with this individual.

    The EOC continues to urge Ketchikan to practice safe social distancing.

    Anyone who thinks they have been exposed to COVID-19 and have developed symptoms like a fever, cough or difficulty breathing is asked to call your healthcare provider for medical advice.
