A Dozen Applicants File For Demboski's Eagle River Assembly Seat

    Anchorage, Alaska (KINY) - Friday was the deadline to apply for the seat now vacant following the resignation of Amy Demboski, who has taken a position in Governor Mike Dunleavy's administration.

    The Municipality of Anchorage has received applications from 12 citizens interested in serving on the Assembly as the representative of the Eagle River, Chugiak, and Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson area.

    According to KTVA TV in Anchorage, Friday was the deadline to apply for the seat now vacant following the resignation of Amy Demboski, who has taken a position in Governor Mike Dunleavy's administration.

    Half of the dozen applicants filed on the last day, while the earliest application was filed on Dec. 6.

    The nominees will be interviewed during a public meeting this week and one of them will be appointed.

    The meeting will be on Dec. 20, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Assembly Chambers at the Loussac Library.
