23 years in prison for man who attacked sex offenders

Anchorage, Alaska (KINY) Jason Vukovich had described himself as an avenger seeking justice.

Vukovich, 42, pled guilty to charges of assault and robbery and received the sentence Monday, KTVA News reported.  It was alleged that Mr. Vukovich had attacked three men listed on the state sex offender registry back in June, 2016.

Vukovich and his brother testified at the hearing that he had been physically and sexually abused growing up by his stepfather and that he was angry at sex offenders as a result.  Vukovich also struggled with addictions to various drugs.

He will be eligible for parole after six years.
