18 new cases of COVID-19 today

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The state total of COVID-19 cases surpassed 500 today.

    While the state added 18 cases to reach 505, there were no new cases in Juneau.

    The cases were reported in eight communities: Anchorage (5), Homer (4), Wasilla (3), Eagle River (2), Soldotna (1), Palmer (1), Kenai Peninsula Borough (1) and Big Lake (1).

    The daily report from the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services said 373 people have recovered while hospitalizations remained at 47 and deaths at 10.

    Southeast remained at 57 cases. Juneau has 33 cases.

    The Anchorage area continued to have the most cases with 254.

    There were 122 active cases in the state.
