12 COIVD cases reported Thursday

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - 12 new resident cases of COVID were reported in Juneau today, by the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services.

    There are currently 3 people hospitalized with COVID at Bartlett Regional Hospital

    The Juneau School District reports seven new individuals who’ve tested positive while in school. One at Riverbend Elementary with one class quarantined as a result, Two at Juneau Community Charter School, Two at Mendenhall River Community School with two classes quarantined as a result, One at Montessori Borealis with one class quarantined as a result, and One at Floyd Dryden Middle School.

    Statewide, 863 new cases were reported. 842 were residents and 21 were nonresidents.

    The state also reported 5 recent deaths, an Anchorage man in his 80s, an Anchorage woman in her 40s, a Chugach Census Area woman in her 60s
    a Soldotna man in his 50s, and a Soldotna man in his 70s. This brings the total to 569.
