11 new cases of COVID-19 reported, 1 new death

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - A total of 257 cases of COVID-19 are reported across the state as of Saturday morning.

That's an increase of 11 over Friday statewide.

Nine new cases have been reported in Anchorage, and one case apiece is reported in the Mat-Su and the City of Craig.

Currently, Juneau remains at 15 cases, and Ketchikan is holding steady at 14 cases.

One new death has been reported, bringing the total to eight.

Out of the 257 cases, a total of 63 have recovered.

The latest numbers are published daily by noon at the DHSS COVID-19 website.

  Anchorage, Alaska (KINY) - Anchorage Superior Court Judge Andrew Peterson sentenced 21-year-old Luimariamofoa Polu to serve 27 years in jail for the murder of 15-year-old Raynaldo Khotesouvan on July 20, 2018, in Anchorage. Polu, who was 16-years-old at the time of the murder, was charged as an adult for the crime pursuant to Alaska Statute 47.12.030. Polu previously admitted the facts contained in the charging document.
