Poetry can cultivate our awareness and allow us to pay better attention to our thoughts and our feelings. Listening to our experience amidst the volume of the world is a radical act of kindness. We can offer this kindness to ourselves and to each other. In this workshop, NaMee will invite you to try exercises intended to build a strong, mindful, loving relationship with yourself and with the world.

Note that we will use poetry skills to guide us but they are neither prerequisites nor the end goal. No poetry experience necessary. Please come as you are. Presented by NAMI Juneau and the Juneau Public Libraries.

NaMee is an award-winning artist, teaching artist and organizer. She is passionate about the power of art to tell our stories, bring people together, and activate positive social change.
