    The Capital City Chapter of the Alaska Peace Officers Association announces plans for National Police Week: May 7-13, 2023.

    On Friday, May 12th, 2023 at 12pm, the CCC of APOA will host the annual Police Memorial Wreath Laying Ceremony at Evergreen Park Cemetery honoring fallen JPD and Southeast Alaska police officers. An inter-agency Honor Guard will lay wreaths at the graves of Officer Adair and Detective Dull. Several speakers will offer short words and prayers for the occasion.

    The keynote speaker for the ceremony will be Lemon Creek Correctional Center Assistant Superintendent Daryl Webster. Asst. Superintendent Webster retired as the Deputy Chief of Police from the Tulsa Police Department after a 27 year career. He holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Tulsa Law School and has been a professor of Criminal Justice at several institutions in Oklahoma. He started with LCCC in 2015.
