Troopers seize heroin during traffic stop

    Ketchikan, Alaska (KINY) - Thomas Widmyer, 45, was charged with misconduct involving a controlled substance in the second degree.

    Troopers said the conducted the traffic stop on a black Subaru near mile marker five on the North Tongass Highway for several equipment violations and a moving violation.

    During the search they found baggies of heroin on the suspect and inside the vehicle, Troopers added.

    Widmyer was transported to the Ketchikan Jail and held without bail.  He was also cited for driving while license revoked, failure to show proof of insurance and driving with an expired vehicle registration.
