Troopers arrest Nunapitchuk man for attempted murder

    Bethel, Alaska (KINY) - Alaska State Troopers arrested a man after receiving a report of an intoxicated person shooting at and threatening to kill household members.

    Troopers from Bethel responded Sunday morning by state aircraft to Nunapitchuk, and then by a Village Police Officer boat. As AST was preparing to contact the house, the suspect was observed across the river operating a boat. Troopers pursued and boarded his vessel. 

    Don White, 30, was taken into custody without incident. Investigation revealed White allegedly used a rifle to shoot at a household member twice.

    According to Troopers, White pointed the gun at and threatened other family members, including a female child. White was arrested for attempted murder DV, assault 3 DV, Misconduct Involving Weapons 2, Misconduct Involving Weapons 4, Boating under the influence of alcohol, and Possession of Alcohol in a dry village. 

    White was remanded to Yukon Kuskokwim Correctional Center in Bethel with no bail set until arraignment.
