Three names submitted to replace Dunleavy in Senate

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) Alaska Governor Bill Walker has until February 14 to name a successor in the Senate to one of his opponents in the governor's race.

Republican state Rep. George Rauscher, Tom Braund and Todd Smoldon are the three finalists to replace Mike Dunleavy (R) of Wasilla, who resigned to put all his energies into the race for governor.

Republicans in his district reviewed 11 applications on Monday and came up with the three finalists.  Any appointment made by the Governor must be approved by Senate republicans.
