Snow plow strikes and kills man in Anchorage

Anchorage, Alaska (KINY) A snowplow was clearing snow when it killed the pedestrian late Sunday.

Anchorage police said the operator told them that he saw something dark in the roadway, swerved to avoid it, turned the plow around and discovered the body in the traffic lane.

Police have yet to release the man's name.  He died at the scene.

An eye witness backed up the operator's story that the pedestrian was standing in the roadway when he was struck, police added.
