Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Juneau School Board is poised to kick off its budget deliberations during forum Tuesday evening.
Board President Brian Holst talked about the forum on Action Line. He said site councils from all the schools will gather in the auditorium at Thunder Mountain High School. Holst said an overview of the budgeting process will be presented. At the same, the board will listen to each of the council's priorities.
The board must submit a budget to the Assembly by March 31.
Holst said he's very concerned over the availability of funding this year from the state. Holst said Governor Dunleavy has been talking about cutting spending so he's nervous about maintaining the funding the district needs.
The forum is schedule from 6 to 8 p.m. in the auditorium at Thunder Mountain High School.
