Rotary clubs collect for food bank

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) The volunteers from Juneau Rotary Clubs spend Saturday collecting 9,000 pounds for the Southeast Alaska Food Bank.

    Darren Adams, on the KINY morning show, said the group from Foodland collected more than 4,000 pounds of food.  Other groups collected at Super Bear and Fred Meyer.  The effort was helped by First Student Inc. buses, students in the Interact Program, and the Cathedral of the Nativity.

    "We are very thankful for every donation.  We just need to keep bringing food in so we can distribute it to those who need it most around Juneau."
