Rainforest expansion and remodel planned for spring ground breaking

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - An update was provided on Action Line Monday on the planned project by Bartlett Regional Hospital to expand and remodel its Rain Forest Recovery facility.

The project will provide a comprehensive intake and assessment center for substance abuse patients.

Hospital Chief Executive Officer Chuck Bill explained that people really  don't know where to go to get help right now..  It will also provide assistance to law enforcement to assess people's need for assistance.  In addition, Bill says the facility will also contain rooms for group therapy.

The cost is pegged at $2.5 Million that will be funded by the one percent sales tax approved by voters in October.

Bill said the plan is to break ground in the Spring with completion planned for nine months later.
