Perryville, Alaska (KINY) A 70 year old was allegedly killed by his grandson Sunday, Alaska State Troopers said.
Marvin Yagie, 70, was assaulted by the grandson, Brandon Yagie, 21, twice on Sunday, according to eye witnesses. A dispatch from Troopers said weather prevented them from responding to the area until Monday. Witnesses said they attempted to intervene in the assault, were threatened by the suspect, and fled for their own safety. The dispatch went on to report that alcohol was a factor.
Charges filed in the case include murder second degree, two counts of assault in the fourth degree, and tampering with evidence. The suspect was held at the King Salmon Jail. Additional charges are expected to be filed.
