Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Juneau Valley Representative Justin Parish offered reaction to the election year challenge he'll face next year while a guest on Action Line Monday.
Deputy Mayor Jerry Nankervis announced recently that he will seek the Republican nomination for the seat in the August Primary Election to earn the right to face Parish in November's General Election.
"I think democracy needs competiton," Parish said. "I'm looking forward to having a debate and I think we're going to present a pretty clear choice to the public."
Parish won the seat in 2016 when he upset Republican Incumbent Cathy Munoz.
