New JACC subject of special Assembly committee meeting

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - How much skin in the game should the City and Borough of Juneau have in the construction of a new Juneau Arts and Culture Center?

That question will be explored during a special meeting of the Assembly Public Works and Facilities Committee Monday.  Rob Edwardson serves on the panel and said on Action Line that this is where they will kick off this year's discussion on the matter.

Edwardson believes CBJ should have a role, but that is his personal opinion.  "As we go through the committee process and the Assembly meeting process, I'll get a chance to voice my concerns and then it will be up to the body to decide."

The committee meeting is scheduled to convene at 5:30 p.m. in Assembly Chambers at City Hall.

A special meeting of the entire Assembly is scheduled for after the Town Hall on the Budget where the body will convene in executive session regarding the cruise ship association litigation over CBJ use of marine passenger fees.
