Mystery into missing Palmer man could be solved

Palmer, Alaska (KINY) After nearly a month of searching the body of a missing Palmer man was found in a vehicle at the bottom of a mountain.

Alaska State Troopers said Keith Aumavae, 30, died from blunt force trauma consistent with the impact from a car driving off a cliff.  They add that foul play is not suspected in the death.  The man's family had made several public pleas and organized searches in an effort to find the man.  They looked in Palmer, Anchorage and areas in between.

The vehicle was found last Thursday afternoon at the bottom of a cliff near Goose Bay Airport.  The 2001 Chrysler Sebring was found partially covered with silt and was only accessible at low tide.  Aumavae was reported missing on October 19.  The family said it was out of character for him to not be in regular contact with them.
