KINY AM 800 will be intermittently off the air Friday

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - If you listen to KINY on 800 AM you may notice the station intermittently on and off the air on Friday afternoon.

The reason for the drop in AM band coverage is that Juneau Radio Center will be installing a new transmitter on Douglas Island.

According to JRC engineers, the new unit, which broadcasts at a full-power rating of 10,000 watts, will provide a more reliable platform to deliver KINY over the air.

You can still listen to KINY without interruptions on Friday at 94.9 FM and online at kinyradio.com.
