Juneau Track and Field returns from Sitka, Capital Invitational this weekend

    Both Juneau Track and Field teams have just returned from a cold, wet and windy weekend in Sitka.

    Both Juneau Track and Field teams have just returned from a cold, wet and windy weekend in Sitka.  While the conditions were poor, the athlete's efforts were not. The host Sitka boys and girls won their divisions with the Juneau Douglas boys placing second, just ahead of Thunder Mountain, Haines and Ketchikan.The Thunder Mountain girls placed second in their division, just ahead of Ketchikan, Haines and Juneau-Douglas. 

    First place performances were turned in by Thunder Mountain girls 4x200 meter relay, as well as Thunder Mountain boys 4x100 and 4x200 meter relays.  Other individual first place finishes were recorded by Juneau Douglas athlete Duncan Smith in the Triple Jump, as well as Thunder Mountain's Sierra Kish in the Shot Put and Aidan Hildebrand in the 400 meter run. 

    All Southeast Track & Field Teams will be coming to Juneau this weekend to host the Capital Invitational this Friday and Saturday at Thunder Mountain High School starting Friday at 2:00 pm going through Saturday until 3:00 pm. There is no admission fee for this event, so come out and cheer on over 200 athletes from Juneau and around southeast.
