Juneau Representative Cathy Munoz sized up the work of the Legislature while a guest on Action Line Monday.

She was asked if the Legislature can get its work done within the confines of the expanded regular session and thus avoid a special session, "If we get the oil and gas credit revision permanent fund we've already gotten medicaid done and we're nearly done with the criminal justice reform bill. We have the criminal justice bill up on Tuesday. Those four pieces bring us very close to closing the fiscal gap and it would be my recommendation that we don't move forward with the special session at that point."

Munoz also commented on Governor Walker's desire for an income tax, "The income tax does not have enough support to get through the Legislature at this point. When we're dealing with the restructure of the permanent fund, oil and gas credit reform, as well as medicaid and criminal justice reform, those four issues are monumental in of themselves so I don't predict an income tax to make it through."
