Juneau man allegedly committed two crimes

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) Juneau police were able to stop a burglary in progress on West 9th Street.

    Michael Hoyt, 39, is charged with burglary of a residence and an earlier burglary of a business in the 600 block of Willoughby Avenue.

    Police said he made a make shift mask to try and conceal his identity in the store.  He reportedly spent a lengthy period in the restroom, and then left the restroom with his face covered by paper towels.  Police said he stole a small pencil pouch that was on the counter and then fled the store.

    Hoyt allegedly possessed $440 worth of stolen items when he was located in the basement of a home.   Charges filed include first degree
    burglary and theft.
