Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Capital City Fire Rescue is looking to fill several professional firefighter - EMT positions.
Fire Chief Rich Etheridge talked about their recruitment effort on Action Line. "We've got eight people we're interviewing for almost ten jobs. We still have some job openings so if there's anyone out there with their Firefighter-EMT certification that is interested in working, we've got some positions open."
The chief says they're conducting testing for those positions every other month.
The department is also looking for volunteers. "We recently let a couple of volunteers go from the department just because their lives have changed and they don't have the time needed to show up to drills and calls. So they left in good standing and created some openings to backfill."
For additional information visit the department's website, check out its Facebook postings, or check in with the downtown or Glacier Fire Stations.
