House can't reach budget deal

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) Time is running out for the legislature to adopt a budget within 90 days.

The 21-19 vote this week to approve a full PFD for residents, or $2,650, has turned the budget process upside down.  Even in Juneau there were disagreements.  Justin Parrish voted for the full dividend while Sam Kito was opposed.

Speaker Bryce Edgmon said he lacks the votes to advance any portion of the state budget.   They have been holding closed door meetings this week trying to build consensus.

The house is expected back in session at 10:30 this morning.
