A strong weather front will sweep across the gulf and into the northern half of the Panhandle tonight, with strong gusty winds along the the outer coastal waters tonight.

Tim Steffen, Metorologist with the National Weather Service in Juneau, says the moderate rain we've been having overnight should lighten up later this morning into early afternoon but we have a very strong weather front with a lot of moisture headed toward the area. "We're going to see rainfall pick up late this evening and continue overnight into Friday.", says Steffen. "Rain will be heavy at times. We're expecting 2 - 4 inches in the Juneau area. Rainfall rates will taper off Friday afternoon. After that it looks like we'll get some showers continuing Saturday and then on Sunday into next week we start to dry out."

Steffen also says we will climb into the 60's as well next week.
