Governor to give his first state of the state address

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) Mike Dunleavy will focus on the speech on keeping promises to Alaskans.

While the House lacks an organized majority, they were expected to meet this morning and take procedural steps that allow them to hold a joint session with the Senate and hear the speech.

Democrats in the house have also scheduled a press conference for after the Governor's remarks.

Dunleavy is also expected to talk about reductions in state spending, public safety improvements and giving Alaskans a full dividend from the state's oil weather fund.

Dunleavy also wants to match state spending with resources, estimated to be $3.2 billion this year.
