Frozen Budz of Fairbanks Loses License to Make Marijuana Products

Juneau, AK (KINY)-An early licensee of legal marijuana product manufacturing has had it's license revoked and is facing a half million dollar fine after failing to test their marijuana edibles for almost a year.

Erika McConnell Director of the Alcohol and Marijuana Control Office says the Fairbanks business called Frozen Budz has been shipping untested marijuana edibles all over Alaska for almost all of 2017.  She says 114,000 edible products that were not tested were sold and likely consumed all around Alaska.  Board investigators tested three packages of Frozen Budz product from Anchorage stores and found they contained two to three times the allowable THC per serving and were contaminated with mold.

A press release sent out by the Alcohol and Marijuana Control Board says that owners Destiny and Nick Neade have the option of appealing the board's decision.
