Fire calls in Juneau expected to hit another record this year

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Capital City Fire Rescue is on pace once again to set a another new record for calls in 2018.

    Fire Chief Rich Etheridge provided this update on Action Line Thursday.  "This year is not different than years past.  We're still growing.  So far this year we're up 12 percent over where we were last year.  We're estimating we'll hit almost 6,000 calls this year."

    The fire department exceeded 5,000 calls the last two years.
