Fatal fire in Aniak

    Aniak, Alaska (KINY) - A man was found dead inside a burning home early Sunday.

    A dispatch from Alaska State Troopers said they received a report of a residential structure fire in Aniak around 7 am Sunday.  An adult female inside the home smelled smoke coming from a bedroom and was able to flee.

    Troopers said the female suffered smoke inhalation and other injuries as she attempted to extinguish the blaze.

    Troopers also reported an adult male was found in the bedroom area by firemen.

    The cause of the fire is now under investigation by the Fire Marshall from Fairbanks.  State Troopers are conducting the death investigation.
