Dunleavy recall group announces signature drive in Anchorage

    Anchorage, Alaska (KINY) - A group called "Alaskans for Recalling Governor Michael J. Dunleavy" has announced they are ready to gather the 100 initial signatures on a petition to recall him.

    According to a press release sent out on Thursday night, the group states, "The recent actions of Governor Dunleavy have the people of Alaska in considerable unrest from the $444 million in vetoes to the intentional division tactics to undermine the Alaska State Legislature’s power. People in our Great State are waiting and ready for the recall movement to start."

    The group intends to start gathering signatures on the Recall Dunleavy petition starting on Monday, July 15 at Writer’s Block in Anchorage from
    7 p.m to 9 p.m.

    Once the initial 100 are obtained, the group states they will work to gather the 28,501 Alaskan voter signatures needed to fulfill the recall petition requirements for submission.

    Writer’s Block is located at 3956 Spenard Rd. in Anchorage.
