Dodge to contest election

Fairbanks, Alaska (KINY) Kathryn Dodge will file an appeal with the Alaska Supreme Court.

Dodge lost to Republican Bart LeBon, by one vote.

Dodge said she disagreed with some of the decisions by the Division of Elections on ballots.  It is a crucial race because if could determine which party will control the house.

Right now Republicans hold a 20-19 advantage.

Nancy Dahlstrom, a Republican, will leave her house seat to become Commissioner over the Department of Corrections.  Under Alaska law, the Governor will appoint from a list of candidates provided by the Republican party.  She replaced Dan Saddler who did not seek re-election and instead tried to run for state Senate.
