Docks and harbors plan Lumberman work

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) -A private firm will go on board to dewater the abandoned tugboat this week.

The City and Borough of Juneau contracted with Global Diving & Salvage to dewater the tugboat as it sits in Gastineau Channel near Eagle Creek.
Global Diving will remove water from the tug that’s accumulated from snow and rain to prevent the vessel from sinking or rolling over. The cost of the work is not to exceed $5,000.
The CBJ has also taken steps to start the removal process.
