Dallas Seavey to Race in Norway instead of Alaska

Dallas Seavey, the man accused of using banned substances on his sled dog team, will be racing in Norway instead of Alaska come March.

According to the Associated Press, Seavey will be going to the Finnmarkslopet next year on March 9th, which is around the same time of the Iditarod. According to Elise Houren, a spokewoman for the race, this will be his first sled dog race in Europe.

In protest, Seavey left the Iditarod over how the investigation was handled. Four of his dogs tested positive for a banned substance. Seavey suggested that it could have been some sort of sabotage. He denies all allegations.

Recent investigations found no evidence of animal cruelty after PETA filed complaints about a kennel operated by Seavey. It was also said that the drugs found had no advantage for a sled dog race team.
